Exciting news reaches GolfTimes towers courtesy of one of our favourite golf resorts in the UK, Carden Park. They have announced that they have now completed a £1m investment programme in the course and facilities. I have visited, stayed and played Carden park twice and can verify what an amazing resort it is. I stayed before the investment programme began and found it to be an elite course and resort so I can’t wait to go back and see the changes.
The Cheshire based resort has enhanced its entire golf offering, improving the guest experience and sustainability throughout. As many of you will know, the five-star resort is home to two championship golf courses – including the Nicklaus course, designed by golfing legend Jack and his son Steve – and will benefit from major upgrades including a new buggy fleet and refurbished cart paths.
Meanwhile, the Cheshire course – which first opened in 1993 – has seen new lining installed across all bunkers in a two-part project completed in May 2024.
Sustainability Drive at Carden park
As part of the resort’s long-term commitment to sustainability, the new 59-strong fleet of golf buggies run on lithium batteries, which boast significantly improved lifespan, efficiency and temperature tolerance when compared to the common lead acid alternative. Across both courses, £150,000 has been invested in cart path restoration to maintain standards after the winter months.
The resort has also added two Greensmaster® eTriFlex electric mowers – which, significantly, are emission-free when compared to the diesel alternatives that had been used previously. More advanced and efficient than their predecessors, the state-of-the-art electric mowers also carry benefits including heavily reduced noise pollution and the elimination of potentially harmful chemicals such as hydraulic fluid. The machines have been sourced from Cheshire Turf Machinery, which has been serving the area for over 25 years.
Hotel room and suite refurbishment at Carden Park
Away from the golf courses, Carden Park have also began refurbishing many of the hotel’s opulent rooms and suites. Prototype rooms with new furnishings and state-of-the-art showers have already been completed, each enjoying magnificent views across the estate.

A stone’s throw from the England-Wales border, Carden Park is a 1,000-acre estate within easy driving distance of Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Chester and Wrexham.

For dining at Carden Park, guests can choose between Rosette awarded experience The Vines, the modern Elements Restaurant or the ambient Redmond’s Brasserie, where buffet-style breakfast is also served each morning.
With 197 stunning bedrooms including four Carden Luxury Suites, a new £10 million spa with one of the largest spa gardens in the UK, a newly refurbished Leisure Club, award winning restaurants and highly acclaimed conference and meeting facilities, Carden Park is unrivalled as a venue for pleasure and business pursuits. 2021 saw further investment in the facilities including the Rosette awarded restaurant The Vines, with Executive Chef Graham Tinsley MBE, as well as the outdoor adventure ropes course named Vertigo at Carden and upgrades to overnight accommodation.
Located just off the A41, close to the village of Broxton, Carden Park is 14 miles from Chester railway station and approximately 40 minutes by car from Manchester International Airport.
