Ian Poulter Rants at British Airways for Losing His Golf Clubs

Poulter gets rage at British Airways

Picture this: Ian Poulter, all set for the LIV Golf event in Houston, Texas, finds himself without his precious golf clubs, thanks to a little mix-up by British Airways. Talk about a travel nightmare! The 48-year-old golfer, ready to tee off alongside his Majesticks GC teammates, had quite the mid-flight surprise.

Ian took to Instagram to share his frustrations, revealing that his golf flight bag was left behind at Heathrow Airport. Can you imagine? He’d checked in a full two and a half hours before the flight, yet his clubs were nowhere to be found. In classic Poulter fashion, he didn’t hold back, expressing his disbelief and irritation in a series of entertaining posts.

His initial post was a straight-up rant: “FFS @British_Airways so disappointing. I checked in 2 hours 30 minutes before the flight. What could possibly be the excuse?” he vented. “Just received the email 3 hours into the flight. I wouldn’t have bothered flying if you’re not sending my golf clubs. Can’t swing fresh air.” Ouch!

Poulter in rant at British Airways

But he didn’t stop there. Over a message from British Airways apologising for the missing bag and requesting arrangements for delivery, Poulter added a selfie looking none too pleased. “Talk about p***ed off @British_Airways,” he captioned it. He noted that his bag wasn’t overweight and he had personally watched it go down the belt. “#Pathetic,” he added for good measure.

Our man Ian even had a tracker on his bag, showing it stranded somewhere near Terminal 5. As if things couldn’t get worse, Poulter pointed out that Henrik Stenson’s clubs were also MIA. “You might as well find those as well whilst you’re looking for mine. The only thing you guys do very well is charge for flying,” he quipped.

Poulter Loses his golf clubs

Stenson, ever the silent partner, didn’t take to social media to join in the fun. Before the luggage debacle, Poulter seemed in high spirits, sharing selfies and commenting on the loud snorer in front of him causing “permanent turbulence.”

This week’s LIV Golf event is the first of two in the United States, with Poulter also set to play in Nashville, Tennessee, in two weeks. Although he hasn’t participated in the US Open since 2021, he’s definitely making headlines with his British Airways saga.

Here’s hoping British Airways gets its act together soon. After all, a golfer without his clubs is like tea without biscuits – just not right!
