Nike’s Jordan golf shoes have long been a favourite of mine, and the Air Jordan 14 G is no exception. I took them for a spin at The Belfry’s Brabazon course, a legendary track known for its tricky conditions. Could these stylish golf shoes handle the challenge?

As we all know, GolfTimes is a massive fan of the Jordan Golf brand. The Retro 6G golf shoe is my absolute favourite and I can’t quite remember quite how many Jordan Golf items I now have in my golf wardrobe. Suffice to say, I feel confident when I say I know the brand inside out.

First Impressions – A Style Icon on the Course

Straight out of the box, the Air Jordan 14 G is a head-turner. The white, black, and oxidised green colour way oozes premium style, and the build quality is outstanding. These are, without a doubt, the coolest golf shoes on the market right now.

The materials feel premium, with the leather upper giving them a luxurious yet durable feel. The sleek design is unmistakably Jordan, staying true to the basketball heritage while adapting seamlessly for golf. The branding is subtle but recognisable, adding to the appeal.

Slipping them on for the first time, they felt incredibly comfortable. The padded collar and cushioned tongue offered a snug fit without feeling restrictive. Walking around the clubhouse, they immediately felt like a high-end performance shoe rather than just a fashion statement.

On the Tee – Comfort and Stability

From the first tee shot, the comfort was noticeable. The Zoom Air cushioning gave a soft yet responsive feel underfoot. Despite their basketball-inspired design, these felt light and stable on every swing.

As I set up for my opening drive, the shoes provided excellent ground contact. The low-profile sole kept me balanced, while the well-placed spikes ensured I stayed planted. Even on powerful swings, my feet felt locked in, giving me confidence in my footing.

The higher ankle support played a key role in keeping me steady. Unlike low-cut shoes, these gave additional stability, particularly on awkward stances and uneven ground. Whether in the rough or on a tight fairway lie, they performed impressively.

Walking the Fairways – All-Day Comfort

A round at The Belfry means a lot of walking, and these shoes delivered. The memory foam insole kept my feet happy, even after 18 holes. No rubbing, no blisters—just pure comfort from start to finish.

After several holes, I noticed how well-ventilated they felt. Unlike some leather golf shoes that can feel stuffy, these allowed my feet to breathe. Even on a mild day, they remained comfortable without causing overheating.

By the time I reached the back nine, my feet still felt fresh. Lesser shoes can start to cause fatigue at this stage, but the Air Jordan 14 G maintained their support. It’s the kind of comfort that makes a huge difference during a long round.

Traction That Holds Up in All Conditions

The Brabazon can get wet and muddy, but the Air Jordan 14 G handled it with ease. The removable spikes and extra grip zones kept me stable, even on slippery slopes. No unexpected slips, even in the softest spots.

On downhill shots, I was particularly impressed with the grip. Some golf shoes struggle with sloped terrain, but these held firm. The tread pattern seemed perfectly designed to adapt to different surfaces, offering solid traction whether on grass, sand, or damp ground.

Even after a few bunker shots, the spikes remained effective. Sand didn’t clog up the outsole, and a quick tap cleared out any debris. It’s clear that these shoes were built with real-world golf conditions in mind.

Waterproofing That Actually Works

Rain clouds rolled in, but my feet stayed completely dry. The leather upper and sealed seams stopped any water from getting in. Higher ankle support was a bonus, keeping the elements out even in deeper rough.

I’ve worn so-called waterproof golf shoes in the past that eventually let moisture seep through. These, however, felt like they could withstand even the heaviest showers. After walking through several wet patches, I still didn’t feel a drop of water inside.

On particularly dewy mornings, the extra ankle coverage made a noticeable difference. Shorter shoes can let water in from the top, but the Air Jordan 14 G kept everything sealed. It’s a small detail that makes a big impact during autumn and winter rounds.

A Golf Shoe That Stays Clean

Despite the mud, these shoes wiped clean easily after the round. The smooth leather finish means no dirt sticks for long. A quick towel-down and they looked brand new again.

Many golf shoes with mesh or suede elements tend to stain easily, but the Air Jordan 14 G avoided this issue. Even after stepping through muddy rough, the leather maintained its pristine look.

The design also prevents scuff marks, which can ruin the look of a shoe over time. After a simple clean, they were ready for the next round, maintaining their fresh-out-of-the-box appeal.

The Price Tag – Expensive but Worth It

At £199.99, they’re not cheap, but quality never is. My last pair of Jordan golf shoes lasted nearly 10 years, so I know these will go the distance. They’re an investment, not just a purchase.

Compared to other high-end golf shoes, the price is competitive. Many premium brands charge similar prices for shoes that don’t carry the same style or heritage. With the Air Jordan 14 G, you get performance and aesthetics.

Given the durability and waterproofing, these should easily last several seasons. For golfers who play regularly, it’s worth paying for a shoe that holds up over time rather than needing frequent replacements.

Performance Meets Style

The Air Jordan 14 G delivers performance without sacrificing style. Whether standing over a putt or walking into the clubhouse, they make a statement. If you want shoes that look as good as they play, these are it.

Golf fashion can sometimes feel outdated, but these shoes bring a fresh energy. The design works both on and off the course, making them one of the most versatile options available.

They also look great with a variety of golf outfits. Whether pairing with modern joggers or traditional golf trousers, they blend functionality with street-style appeal.
